The battle between Linux and Windows is far from over. As long as two separate personalities use personal computers there will always be a place for both Windows users and Linux users. Linux users tend to gravitate toward efficiency and customization. They do not like restrictions to modifications or settings they can do to their own personal computers. Windows users, on the other hand, can generally care less about customization and prefer ease of use over flexibility.

Of course, the diversity of operating systems offers a diversity of technological use as well. Apple Mac OS users are even more tied to the efficiency and workflow of their machines. The cost, however, is a drastic conformity in both hardware and software experience. This makes Apple computers less “fun” to work with.

The same goes with Windows when compared to Linux. The hardcore “tinkerer”, therefore, is likely the Linux user. As for Mac gaming, well… most of us know how that one goes.
