This post aims to teach how to embed social media comments in WordPress. We all live in social media. It’s the truth, very few of us actually leave our preferred social networks.
The implementation of Authority and Google Authorship make true organic social media engagement even more important. For the modern blogger, this creates a problem. The traditional WordPress comments system can no longer compete with social media. Thankfully, there is a free solution.
Before we begin, does social media engagement really impact search rankings? Don’t take my word for it because Moz conducted their own thorough search engine ranking factors analysis. They found the social media metrics had the most significant impact on organic results.
Now is the time to leave traditional commenting behind and leverage the benefits social media. We do this on WordPress with an amazing plugin called WordPress Social Share, Social Login And Social Comments.
Before You Learn How To Embed Social Media Comments In WordPress, Beware Your Permalinks
Google Plus may be going away, but it’s important to remember that Google+ uses your website’s permalinks to embed Google Plus comments and track engagement. If you decide to change the permalink structure of your website, it will reset all of the comments, plus ones and engagement tied to WordPress posts.
If you have not yet configured your WordPress permalink structure, make sure you do so before implementing a social media based comment system.
How It’s Done – The Social Share, Social Login And Social Comments Plugin
