Today’s video goes over how to disable the Windows theme service to reduce system memory use. The theme service is in charge of all of your visual Windows themes and it manages the graphical user interface for optimal display. When you disable the windows theme service you will find your desktop will not look graphically as nice, but it will also free system memory use will result in a faster operating system. I am usually not one to disable the windows theme service unless it is absolutely necessary, and unless the computer I am running on really doesn’t have enough system memory to support the graphics built into the windows theme service.
