Why Learning How To Completely Reset Windows 10 From The Login Screen (2020) Is Important:

WARNING! This Technique Is Considered A Destructive Reset. This Tip Completely Reinstalls Windows Onto The Device. Even Though It Gives The Option, Windows May Not Successfully Retain All Critical User Files. I Recommend A Complete Backup Of Critical User Files.

What Is A Windows 10 System Reset?

Windows 10 was the first of Microsoft’s operating systems to include a complete reset. By complete reset, I mean it lets you completely reinstall the operating system with very little overhead. Microsoft had to do this in response to the popularity of mobile devices. Just about any phone, tablet, or portable device allows for a quick reset of the device. Computers were the only device in the marketplace in which it was a considerable difficulty actually to reset them back to defaults.

Unfortunately, a sad reality of all technology is sometimes it reaches a point where it’s not worth trying to troubleshoot anymore. This endpoint is when reset is an excellent option for those of you who are fed up with trying to remove junk files, viruses, malware in any other headache software giving you grief. A new reset of the Windows operating system allows the user to start with a blank slate. Sometimes this is an excellent optimization technique. If you are dealing with a computer where there is absolutely no critical data or personal data on it, then a system reset makes sense.

Is There A Reason I Should Not Reset Windows 10?

It may be one of the first things you would do before running through any of your optimizations. The reason is that the end of my guide is because it’s usually a last-ditch effort. I come from a background where it is imperative to know the process of optimization. It is also vital to understand the various ways to troubleshoot a computer. Merely defaulting to a system reset any time you run into an issue is not a solution. It eliminates the art of troubleshooting, and it also extremely limits your versatility as a troubleshooter.

When troubleshooting, you have a unique opportunity to learn how to recover from that specific set of circumstances. This opportunity makes you a better troubleshooter and gives you a skill set that is more adaptable to circumstances. However, if you’ve been ripping out your hair trying to fix a problem and it’s just not worth the time investment anymore – let’s drop that nuke. Here’s how to do it.
