My name is Craig Chamberlin you’re watching the faster eight series only on the PC & Tech help show backing up critical system files is always recommended for people who are going to be making major system changes which we will be doing in this fast rate series number sorry how to backup the most commonly used files and folders for the Windows 8 operating system but mind you there might be some niche software that you need backed up in a specific way if that’s the case make sure you got a PC & Tech help da comforts such community in join the free Google+ community we will help walk you through whatever software you may need backed up so it’s going to get started double click on Computer on your desktop never gonna double-click on the C Drive to get access to your main system folders then we want to take this user folder here in back it up this is pretty much where all of the main documents such as libraries documents music pictures and video are stored on your machine you could put in an external flash drive which a lot of people like to do and just right-click influx sent to in actually send that to your external drive now if that doesn’t work out for your if you don’t have an external drive you can register for cloud storage now when I did as I installed Google Drive prior to this video it’s very easy to locate let’s go ahead and bring up Google not show you where to find it Google gives you five gigs a free storage let’s go to www dot cool that comp for flash drive and press Enter and then select learn more right here at the bottom middle of the page and then we want to click down here at the bottom download drive this will let you download and install Google Drive onto your system once you’ve installed it will install this Google Drive folder right here on the left hand side you can drag and drop files into that folder you know actually a sink them online with your Google Drive service now as a side note you may have to register a Google address for your five gigs a free storage i think im it actually may actually be up to 15 gigs at this point and then once you’ve registered it we’re just gonna go ahead and open that folder and then we’re gonna actually copy our system folder I was talking about earlier the Sikh on flash users into that folder sore right click copy and will enter our Google Drive folder right click and select paste now in the bottom right hand corner will start to synchronize those files any you can notice it’ll actually say whether the sink has completed or not once the sink has completed you will have all your files backed up onto the cloud let others news video as always thank you for stopping by another we’ve completely backup your system we can work on making it run a lot faster my name is Craig Chamberlin you’re watching the PC & Tech help show and I’ll see you in the next video
