Ratings are an excellent way of getting feedback from your users. Implementing post ratings in your WordPress blogs is extremely easy. This video will go over how to integrate the built in ratings on the free WordPress.org hosting. Later on in this series we will discuss optional plugins for those of you who are looking to implement ratings onto your own hosting.
It usually a good idea to give users an idea of how complicated adding a user rating system would typically be on a blog. First, a database would need to be created, then this database would need to be integrated with the blog’s infrastructure. After that has been completed, hours of checking, data testing and integration would be necessary. Wordpress eliminates all of these steps by having plugins that take care of this for you.
WordPress is an incredible piece of software, it streamlines tasks such as adding post user ratings to blogs. It goes a step further by allowing users to customize their own preferences regarding using ratings. I usually don’t recommend individuals implementing a rating system on their posts unless they get a good amount of traffic. Many individuals are reluctant to cast votes on material.
