Best Antivirus Software
What do you say is some of the best antivirus software out there Craig Chamberlin?
There’s quite a few of them obviously. The best antivirus software, and I say this time and time again, is you. I don’t care how good your best antivirus software is. If you’re clicking on everything and your touching everything. If you’re one of those people easily drawn in by the flashing lights and you can’t resist the urge to click, it doesn’t matter what antivirus you have.
You’ve got to pay attention to the installations when you’re installing new software. They’re very sneaky with these check boxes on your licensing agreements. You’ve got to make sure when you’re going through them that you’re not agreeing to install the Ask Toolbar or whatever toolbar or applications that might be packaged with it. Sometimes you even need to check the check box intentionally.
My second favorite tool when it comes to best antivirus software is not even an antivirus. It’s called Adblock Plus. It’s an extension for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and even Internet Explorer. Adblock Plus will block advertising. I make this a standard practice on people’s computers when I’m removing viruses and spyware. Probably 90% of viruses and spyware come from people clicking on ads. So you can get Adblock Plus on your mom’s computer, your brother’s computer, your cousin’s computer… and get it like yesterday. It prevents a lot of potential harm from coming through.
Another best antivirus software recommendation and techniques is immunizations. Spybot Search and Destroy will let you do this. Then you have best antivirus software that is actually antivirus software. I recommend, if you don’t want to spend the money, go with Avast! Home Edition. I like Avast! Home Edition. It’s not the best antivirus software, but as far as free is concerned, I think it’s easy to use. It’s user-friendly, it’s efficient and it does a good job with detection rates.
If you wanted to pay for the best antivirus software: my top choices are typically Kaspersky and also ESET NOD32. Both are a little resource-intensive from time to time. ESET NOD32 is a little confusing to set up. Both have excellent detection rates and are well worth the investment.
Lastly another free best antivirus software you must have is Malwarebytes AntiMalware. I recommend paying the fifteen dollars for the professional edition so you can get the real time scanning engine. Malwarebytes is an awesome best antivirus software package. Malwarebytes has save so many systems I’ve come across I can’t even begin to describe you. Make sure you check that one out. In some cases, depending on the user, the professional version Malwarebytes Antimalware it is more than enough to not need a second antivirus. The Professional Malwarebytes Antimalware will detect most viruses that attempt to infect your system.
If you want to be paranoid, I’d recommend ESET NOD 32 coupled with Malwarebytes Antimalware. Then get Adblock Plus and run immunizations with Spybot Search and Destroy. Then make sure you’re using common sense when surfing the internet and you will be in really really good shape.
